The Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) was selected to take over operations of PERI, effective June 5, 2013. Under the new arrangement, PRIMA manages all new PERI programs for public entities and nonprofits and provide staff support to the PERI Board. The two organizations collaborate to structure programs that support PRIMA’s mission to advance the knowledge and practice of public risk management.
Under this new operational model, a majority of the PERI Board will be directors appointed by PRIMA and the remainder will be independent directors.
Employing a competitive selection process, PERI strove to find a partner organization that could raise awareness and understanding of risk management; provide practical, affordable and easily accessible risk management education and training; and serve as a resource center and information clearinghouse for PERI’s products.
