Product Launched at PRIMA Annual Conference in Anaheim
June 2, 2008, Anaheim, Calif.—The Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) today announced the launch of its newest online training course—the Associate in Risk Management 56 (ARM56)—Risk Financing online tutorial. The ARM56 completes the PRIMA catalog of online courses, which are designed to help public sector risk managers and others in related fields excel. Like the other ARM online tutorials, the ARM56 is conducted by PRIMA Instructor Bill Mason, CPCU, ARM-P.
The ARM56 Risk Financing lessons focus on general risk financing, insurance as a risk financing technique and insurance plan design including self-insurance, retrospective rating, captive, finite and integrated risk insurance plans.
Like the ARM54 and ARM55 online tutorials, the ARM56 online can be taken from any computer, any time, anywhere.
“With limited time and resources, public risk managers sometimes struggle to meet their career learning goals,” said Lisa Lopinsky, CAE, executive director. “With the launch of the ARM56 online tutorial, risk managers will be able to work toward their ARM designation without having to travel for a classroom course or take time away from their jobs. With all three ARM online tutorials now available, risk managers simply need to log in to our Web site and be on their way!”
The ARM is a nationally recognized educational program for dedicated professionals. Public and private sector employees pursue the ARM designation to increase their everyday effectiveness and proficiency in the risk management field. Participants gain the practical, relevant skills they need to help manage risk at all levels of their position.
The ARM helps employees to:
• Build a strong foundation in the science of risk management
• Gain practical skills to avoid, reduce, and manage risk
• Learn to adapt those skills to meet changing needs
