What are the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Risk Management for Public Entities (RMPE) Programs?

The Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and the Risk Management for Public Entities (RMPE) are nationally recognized educational programs for dedicated risk management professionals. Public and private sector employees pursue the designations to increase their everyday effectiveness and proficiency in the risk management field.   Participants gain the practical, relevant skills they need to help manage risk at all levels of their position.

The ARM program consists of three parts: the ARM54 – Risk Assessment; ARM55 – Risk Control; and ARM56 – Risk Financing.

The RMPE course is required in addition to ARM 54, 55, and 56 to earn the ARM-P designation.

RMPE – Risk Management for Public Entities: This course explores the entire risk management decision-making process in the public sector, emphasizing how it differs from private-sector risk management. Building on the content of the ARM program, the RMPE course focuses on the distinctive features of public sector risk management and the ways risk management for public entities are unique.

Tutorials for these courses or self-study should be completed prior to taking the examinations.  PRIMA offers online tutorials for the ARM54 and RMPE.  For more information, please visit www.primacentral.org.
